PRIVACY

Without an account

The playground works without an account. Your grammar and text are sent to the server to be scanned and are not stored there. Your current draft is kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only.

With an account

We store your email address, your username (which is public), your password as a one-way hash if you set one, and, if you sign in with Google, the link to your Google account along with the basic profile Google shares with us (name, email address and profile picture URL). We use your email address only to confirm it, to send password reset links, and to tell you when your password or Google sign-in changes (with the time, IP address and browser of the change).

If you save a grammar, we store its name, its description if you write one, the grammar and its sample text. Anyone with a saved grammar's link can open it and see your username. Saved grammars aren't listed anywhere else, and you can delete them from your account settings.

Signing in sets a session cookie for two weeks. Forms on the account pages also set a security (CSRF) cookie.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the playground is used. Events carry counts, sizes and durations, never your grammar or text. Session recordings, when enabled, show the playground page as you use it, including what you type into the editors. Account pages load no analytics and are never recorded. If you're signed in, PostHog knows you by a random identifier, not by your email address or username.

Services we use

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. This removes your username, email address, password, Google link and saved grammars immediately. Analytics already collected stay in PostHog under the random identifier, which no longer points to anyone.
